Said to grow prolifically wherever chicken blood has been spilt, henbane is a rather useful little plant that has acquired a darker reputation than it perhaps deserves. While it is true that many poison blends call for its use, henbane can also be used to commune with spirits, ease pain, or even flavor beer! Because it can be put to so many purposes, it is rare than any place puts restrictions on the sale of henbane, making this a commonly available plant.

Easily recognizable due to its cluster of yellow, tubular flowers with crimson centers growing near the crown of the plant, henbane is a common plant that prefer to grow in woody, shaded areas. The plant becomes very rare in colder areas and is entirely absent in mountains and deserts, preferring moister conditions than these places can provide.
